Hey guys! Welcome to the 100th episode of Her Faith Inspires podcast. I can’t believe we’re at episode 100. I started this podcast less than 2 years ago and didn’t know if I’d run out of things to talk about but I guess after 100 episodes, and a bonus episode or two, I had more to say than I thought.
It was a hard decision about how to approach today’s episode:
do I talk about the success of the podcast? Do I fill you in on behind the scenes stuff? And to be honest, I just didn’t want to linger on the ins and outs of the podcast. I didn’t want to talk about me and what I do to create a podcast. I want to focus on why I started this podcast to begin with and it’s because I wanted to equip other women just like me … average, ordinary wives, moms, daughters, aunties, sisters … who have real problems. Women who love Jesus and want to stand for truth but sometimes aren’t sure how to do that. Women who want to speak truth into a wicked culture and fight for the next generation but sometimes find it scary to do that because of consequences and pushback from friends, family or society.
So, I dedicate this episode to you.
I LOVE my online community and honestly, I prayed when I first started this ministry because I never thought I would build relationships. I love my apologetics 101 students who email me and message me with questions. If you’re one of my students and you’ve taken my class, I pray for you everyday. I feel the responsibility to take you under my wing and help you become an ambassador for Christ.
I appreciate those of you who message me and say “thank you”.
Do you know what that does for me? It gets me to go to my room alone for several hours each day and script new episodes and reflect on what you may need to help encourage you to keep going. Those messages keep me going and I appreciate them so much.
I’ve said before and I will say again I do not get paid to do this podcast. It costs me money each month to pay the team I have and any sells from the Apologetics classes goes to keep them paid. So when you share the episodes, quotes or write a review and leave a 5 star rating, you are advancing this podcast and that is the only way it advances. That’s it.
So in honor of this 100th episode, I am going to bring my husband in in just a little bit and we are going to share some things with you that will help you make hard decisions in life. We both have experienced one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make and one I never thought I would make just a few months ago … and that was to move across the country.
I’m telling you, I learned so much about the Lord and trust, and status-quo, and comfort, familiarity and settling that I never thought about before.
We’re going to share that with you today.
Before I do, I have to tell you about the giveaway going on all week!! Since we’re celebrating 100 episodes, I partnered with Holy Roast Coffee and they donated a bag of coffee and a tumbler. They are an amazing Christina company I’ve been following for a while and they were all in on this giveaway. Also, I have a cute tee from The Stone and The Oak. Adelaide lives in my hometown of Fresno, Ca and she has the cutest line of tees that says “Him” on the. We are giving one of those away AND …. I am throwing in some of my favorite apologetics books. Mama Bear Apologetics is one of them. Tactics for Defending the Faith by Greg Koukl is another and Cold Case Christianity by Jim Wallace.
And for the grand finale … I am throwing in a free spring Apologetics 101 class. Now, if you’ve taken the class and you win, give it to someone who would love to take the class.
When I say it was hard to narrow down the books I wanted to throw in, I’m not lying. I went back and forth over a few I have read and settled on these.
You’re going to love them and they’re a great place to start.
So share the page, write a review and send me a screenshot of the review for 5 extra entries. Tag a friend to enter. Help me promote this podcast this week and I will make sure you are in the giveaway and every time I see you share, like, etc, your name is going down for multiple entries.
Ok. So I want to bring my husband in now and we are going to talk about settling, status quo and how moving across the country helped us realize some things about making hard decisions.
Here we go …
