Season: 6 Episode: 091
There’s a difference between knowing how to think versus being told what to think. But how do you know the difference? We also discuss brainwashing, freethinking, and what the Bible says about trading your mind to think correctly
“Deception happens in the mind”
“A man-centered worldview shapes man’s thoughts around man. A God-centered worldview shapes man’s thoughts around reality as God created it.”
“Thinking is a full contact sport; it requires work and practice.”

Lance’s Blog: How to Think vs What to Think
As a matter of fact, Lance serves on the 5 Stones Anti-trafficking Taskforce Steering Committee as well as various nonprofit advisory boards. His commitment to combating exploitation of the vulnerable and ending modern-day slavery has taken him to Northern Iraq and opened up direct communications with the White House. Moreover, he recently joined Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s “Governor’s Response Against Child Exploitation (GRACE)” initiative. All these things are by God’s grace and for His glory.
I came across one of your blog posts where you wrote about how to think vs what to think, and I couldn’t resist emailing you to have you on the show. What inspired you to write it?
Also, in the post you mentioned learning how to think when you were in prep school, but when you went to college you were told what to think. What’s the difference?
What are some ways culture is telling us what to think and how can we identify that?
Reason and logic are under attack these days. They are being touted as a white supremacist idea. How do you respond to that?
I’ve heard the term “freethinker” coming from Christians recently. Is that something the Bible encourages … freethinking?
Some will say that Christians are brainwashed into believing God exists. Can you explain what brainwashing is and whether this fits the narrative for Christianity?
Lastly, I want to discuss where in the Bible we learn how to think. What does the Bible say about the mind?
